Gene Baur's 25th Anniversary Speaking Tour - Farm Sanctuary

Yesterday, I attended an event for bloggers at Kind Food in Burlington which featured Gene Baur of Farm Sanctuary.
Gene spoke as part of the speaking tour that he is conducting in celebration of Farm Sanctuary's 25th anniversary.
Animals raised and killed for food are subjected to intolerable cruelty. They are routinely packed inside factory farm warehouses, barely able to move or engage in basic natural behaviors. More than 9 billion land animals are slaughtered in the U.S. every year, and millions more die before reaching the slaughterhouse.
Farm Sanctuary is an organization that confronts agribusiness on all issues that affect farm animals. They work to end cruel factory farming practices through investigations, public education, legislation and litigation. Some of their key campaigns include an anti-confinement campaign, a truth behind labels campaign, a veg for life campaign, a green foods resolution campaign, and a downer's campaign. Read more about these efforts on their web-site. Click here to watch some remarkable video footage. Click here to find out how you can become involved.
